After studying trombone at Western Michigan University and rambling around the country for a year, Michael transferred to Northern to finish college as a voice major. Known for singing his own songs as well as original interpretations of popular songs, Waite has been performing regularly in the central UP ever since returning here. His wife, Erica, is a dancer trained in a ballet, and when they're not too busy with their 3 children or building their house up in Powell Township they can be found performing together in local churches, festivals, and benefit shows.
