I was born in Ishpeming and I have lived in National Mine in the Upper Peninsula my entire life, 100% Yooper! I have been married to my high school sweetheart Dean for 34 years. We have two children, Kory and Toni, who both reside in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Both of my children love to cook. I guess I rubbed off on them. My love for cooking started young. I remember watching my Grandma Lorraine bake and cook all kinds of goodies; she would let me help her and I began to love cooking. My mother Betty taught me everything she knows when it comes to cooking - there was never a night without a home-cooked meal. During my youth I didn't even know what MacDonald's was, ha ha. I never went out to eat and to this day still don't, homemade is better. My love for the Upper Peninsula is a heartfelt, tried and true love. I will never move and never stop loving this place I will call home forever.
